This from a GB fan and MMQB:
I'm glad you picked up on Rodgers holding the ball too long. I think the entire state was screaming at him. TT's penchant for building talent from within versus getting veteran help on the O line is exposed. He makes poor decisions in the draft, and the exposure lasts season after season. Great point on teams that are familiar with the 3-4, the training wheels are still on this puppy.
I had nightmares last night thinking about the upcoming ViQueen game. They have the best running back on the planet- we can't stop the run, they have the best D line in football Ð we can't block Kate Gosslin. Who cares who is the QB, he can hand off to AP and enjoy the show. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm starting to have my wife hide the sharp objects around the house ... just in case.
Golly, it's fun reading this stuff.
The MMQB replies: Our offensive line has been a problem ever since they let Rivera and Wahle skip town. Since then we have been saddled with (at best) journeymen who would be second or third stringers on better teams. Teddy loves to go deep in the draft and prove he find those jewels like Ron Wolf did. And he's not up to the task. What has he done in free agency? Nada. He brought in TJ Lang in the draft but he's yet to crack the starting five. I'm left with the feeling that the only way to fix the line is to go out and actually pay some skilled players. And that would mean free-agent contracts and we know how Ted loathes free agents. His only acquisition this year was dropped on final cut down day. And where did he play? Was it defensive back? Could it be that we NEED SOME FREAKIN' SAFETIES RIGHT NOW, TED?
