Many have wondered how much freedom Favre was going to be given to use his veteran savvy for on-the-field adjustments. That is going to be an ongoing process, but Childress is definitely aware of how his offense has been perceived in years past. "You guys [in the media] always like say that [our quarterbacks don't get freedom]. Yeah, I've got shackles on them," he joked. "We have an electric current and if they happen to change [the play] we do the Pavlov's dog thing. We hit them with a current on the way back to the huddle."
Asked if he had to turn up the current with Favre at the helm, Childress said: "No, he is one of those dogs that runs right through the fence."
