A board member from a previous position with whom I have kept in touch has asked me to help a small non-profit whose board she is on to be the Director of Development there. They do not have the funds for my salary, and I am considering suggesting to them I work for them as a consultant to start just a foundation program for them. I want to charge them per hour. I live in New York City. I think it would take me 15 - 20 hours a week to:
1) Write a master proposal
2) Identify likely foundations (in a particular case I am thinking of this would be family foundations)
3) Send proposal, doing follow-up, etc.
How much per hour do you think I should ask for?
