There are really some basic things about grants that you should understand. One of the most important is that a applying for a grant does not guarentee that you will get the grant. In basic theory all the grant applications for a particular/specific/individual grant programs are reviewed by one or a group of people and (again in theory) the application that best fits the objective of the grant funder will be awarded the grant. While you may be able to get a grantwriter to work for you on a contingency or percentage basis you should at least understand this basic process when applying for a grant. As I saw one of the other replies to your message you might even be able to find a volunteer to help you. I bet your statement about "perhaps when a grant is granted" has made every legitimate grantwriter cringe!
