Hi, D: I'm guessing that your plan for your novel is not that the main character is a heroine FOR writing grants, but that her profession is as a grant writer and she gets herself into another situation that qualifies her as the "heroine" of the story. And why not? I've read many, many novels where the main charaters have mainstream, even boring professions - sometimes that makes the story more interesting, not less! As for the quibble about the "title", I personally couldn't care less - my official title is Resource Strategist, and NO ONE could even guess at what that means, but my main function is as grant writer. Anyway, I would be happy to communicate with you to flesh out your character if you're still interested. Feel free to contact me off-line with any questions you might have. Good luck!
