1) As I understand it, volunteer time is not tax deductible, even if the volunteer is donating a service she provides professionally. 2.) Yes, you have to pay sales tax unless you apply and receive a sales tax exemptionn from your State. Tax exemption from federal income tax does not guarantee a sales tax exemption from your state. Contact your state's Dept of Revenue for an application. Good luck!
