Don't be discourage. I've been writing for a least a year and I was told we don't have a reasonable budget. If you believe in what you do and know that you can impact change to an organization stay focus on that. Network with positive people to pull positive energy and dwell in it. I know that somehow someone will give you or that organization the funding it needs. I am still holding on to hope that my organization get the grants for our inner city youth. Until then all I can do is keep my foot on the pedal.
