Start with an advocacy groups related to your condition. I recently obtained $1,000 from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Association for my sister. They were willing to reimburse for nonmedical expenses, like travel and parking. Call your United Way for a referral to other local organzations. Talk to your local community foundation. They may manage donor-advised funds they can be used for personal medical care.
