Jennifer - It is difficult to find such funding. Why don't you concentrate on other fund-raising programs rather than grants. For example, see if some of your parents and/or board members know of a leading expert in early childhood education and can get him/her to agree to make a presentation (free), get another noted person to introduce the speaker, rent a hall and sell tickets, especially to parents and boards of other nursery schools, local government officials, local funding agencies, and make sure there is press coverage. A long, long time ago the parents of a cooperative nursery school did just that and raised a lot of money.
