Even better, your nearest community colleges will have access to scholarships (and possibly grants) for the specific groups you are working with. A lot of larger community colleges have scholarship funds for inner city youth that are further specialized for writers, musicians (even for certain instruments), dancers, cheer leaders, etc. In Chicago you would contact Malcolm X College or Robert Morris College. In the past I heard from one aide officer that every year they turned back funds that no one had applied for (because they didn't know they existed). His frustration was not having the time or resources to get the word out to communities. Good luck.
