Of course, I agree that we should try to cultivate those relationships and make all of the necessary preparations whenever possible.
Sending out the occasional letter is what I'm talking about, just to get it in front of "someone's eyes". However, you give a perfectly good example of why we need to "cultivate" relationships with funders.
