I cannot believe the hostile overtones that have been posted in reply to my simple question about certification for grant writers from an organization that is devoted to philanthropic causes.
I have done extensive reading on the topic of grant writing, attended university courses and spoken to local industry professionals. As a matter of fact, I do have experience with grant writing and have been awarded every grant for which I have applied. Although I have been involved in this field for a relatively short time, I have been awarded in excess of $50,000 for various nonprofits in my area.
I have a B.A. in Environmental Science and am interested in pursuing a career in grant writing. I am a certified project management professional and it has only added to my credibility as well as my income.
Learning is a lifelong process and I fully support certification for grant writers.
