Sara, Great question...Most United Way Chapters offer their grant opportunities once a year. From what I've experienced, the process usually occurs between January - May. Right now most of them are soliciting applications for the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), a campaign that they assist with at the local level. The CFC is not a United Way grant, but they help facilitate the process. That's one way to get your organization "out there" in front of donors. As for the United Way grants, they usually go to organizations that have been through the United Way accreditation process - and approved. I recommend that you contact your local chapter and ask about becoming a "United Way" agency and the grant cycle. All of my clients have benefited from being a United Way agency. I'm sure your organization will too. Best of luck.
