Amy - Our President not only writes thank you letters to project officers at federal and state agencies that have awarded us grants, but he also writes thank you letters to those people when we have been turned down. The latter goes something like this: Dear Ms. R___ Thank you for your letter of October 24. We too regret that our proposal did not get funded, but we understand that there was a large number of submissions and the competition was stiff. Thank you also for the readers' comments as to why our submission might not have been approved. We will try to sharpen that up for the next time around. Continued best wishes in all your endeavors.
