    Linda,

not to sidestep the issue, but as a grantwriting professional, how often does your name or the name of your business go onto the grant? My practice is to not put my name on submitted materials so that the potential funder is not swayed nor detracted from supporting by use of an outside firm.

Again, this merely a curiosity question rather than one of 'dodging legal issues'. In the past I've always registered in the state my clients are; didn't realize that it was double-edged to include all states were potential funders are located as well. The saving factor is that the majority of funders I've petitioned on behalf of clients do not have grantwriting professionals listed as those who fall under contractual fundraising guidelines (only those taking portions of dollars raised, as in capital campaign or specific events consultants).
