I do not recall any specific articles I've read on the subject, but I can recall many conversations I've had with others.
If you begin discussing your community (which varies by locale), imagine it without (fill in the blank(s)) hospitals or healthcare, museums or performance arts organizations, boy scouts/girl scouts, animal shelters, parks and trails groups, autism services, gardening clubs, boys and girls clubs, hospice providers, domestic violence providers, homeless shelters....the list is quite extensive of what CBO's provide communities.
If you picture a room lit by candles and blow one out for each CBO that might cease to exist in your community without donor support, that also provides a graphic illustration of how CBO's bring light to our lives.
