    You might also check with the state Agency that funds services for this population. In our state, our Department of Developmental Disabilities funnels most of the Federal block grant money. The state Agency is a great source for knowing what Federal funds, both formula and discretionary, are available for activities related to the DD population. In many cases, any Federal application for discretionary funds will require (or at least be strengthened by) a letter of support from a state-level Agency. If you don't already have a relationship with the state Agency, contacting them for info about potential Federal grant sources is a great way to begin to develop that relationship.
