| Re: Providing lists of grants awarded to potential clients or employers

When I apply for a new grant position, I attach a list of funded grants to my resume. There is nothing on it that anyone with a computer couldn't discover with a little research. The majority of my work is with public funders, so most of the grants are listed on public websites. Attaching my funded grants list has never failed to get me an interview--which is the point of sending the resume. On the other side of the coin, when I was hiring a grant proposal writer I had several good candidates, but none of them stood out. The person I hired was the only one who complied with all the directions in our ad. My thinking was that grant proposal writing is largely about following the rules in an RFP. The person I hired was the only one who did this throughout the interview process. She's been a fantastic grant writer for our organization.
