| Re: google grants

CK; I know of two organizations who were awarded google-in-kind advertising, and consider it 'worth it'. Advertising and it's impact may be difficult to measure, but is usually worthwhile if it does not require undue time and effort to equal the dollars/recognition received. Since the grants are competitive, follow the traditional 5 W's and the 1 H which should be found in any effective proposal: Who - who you are, who you serve What - What you do on behalf of others, what measurable impact your organization effectively produces on behalf of your constituents... When - When you were founded, when your programs take place Where - Where you operate, details about the community and why a need exists (describe the specific locale and describe the need of the locale) for this/these locations... Why - why you do the work you do, and why (your organization) is uniquely qualified to do this work. (Experience, leadership, volunteers, results, etc.) How- How does your organization offer unique experience for donors, community participants, how do you carefully manage funds, how will you and/or your clients/area/region benefit from their partnership with your organization? If you answer all these questions in a truthful and compelling manner (your case for support) then you will have positioned yourself well for proper consideration. The rest is up to the 'powers-that-be' for determinations. Hope that helps!
