Is there an AFP (association of fund-raising professionals) chapter where you live? Have a look at this link below, which lists consultants who are members of AFP. Depending upon the type of service you need, the consultant does not necessarily have to live in your community. Many grant writers, for instance, live in the US and have international clients. If you don't find what you are looking for on this list, call your closest AFP chapter and ask for a recommendation.
