    Becoming a Freelance Grant Writer

Posted by AMD on 10/14/2009, 9:47 am

I am currently a full-time grant proposal writer. I have ten years of non-profit fundraising experience and five years of grant writing experience. For various reasons, I am interested in resigning from my full-time job and working as a freelance grant writer specializing in grant proposals for arts, cultural, and educational organizations. My question is this: with the recession in full swing, is now a good time or a bad time to be a freelance grant writer? Is there any work out there? Any insight or advice that you can give is greatly appreciated.
