We're a popular non-profit community event seeking funding from local businesses and national products that are seeking to promote themselves to our audience.
A marketing professional has proposed to become the middle man in approaching national products, as he already has relationships with their marketing staffs. In return, he would take a percentage of the contributions from these companies.
Wondering if anyone has any experience with this type of fundraising, positive or negative, and can advise us moving forward. We've been told there is a slim time window in which to seek funding for the fiscal year, and that we need to make a decision soon.
