Hi all - my situation briefly - I am a semi-young semi-retired individual getting involved in philanthropy. Several times I have donated to an overseas project and traveled to it for a tour of it in action. Have been to SE Asia and SE Africa and have enjoyed the trips greatly.
However it has always just been as a tourist/observer, never as an actual volunteer. I want to become more involved than just writing checks and being led on tours. Want to actually start doing some of the work, while still providing funds for the project.
Any advice? Is there such a thing as an overseas charitable group where the volunteers ARE the donors? Many thanks in advance.
