Gracie, Your message is well delivered...how do we note our accomplishments, yet reflect that we may not be able to deliver the same for another organization? Grant writers are often mis-understood as a profession--seen as being 'good' when a grant is awarded and 'less than adequate' when it is not, regardless of the reasoning behind the funders decision. A strong accomplishment area will note that you have: - Developed relationship(s) with noted funders, a keen sense of understanding of which foundations work with (various)organizations that surpasses basic search-engine data, - Learned to manage relationships in the office by developing respect amongst the Executive Leadership, Development Staff, Finance Dept. (and any others you integrated with to accomplish the goals achieved) -Honed Time-Management and Priority-Management in order to have never missed a deadline, - Achieved (any level of education which you may have undertaken along the way such as CFRE certification, or professional accreditation) - Mastered a plan of recording and incorporating volunteer hours as a value of service in order to speak more intelligently regarding services provided to the community... -Etc. Then you may fully note how these types of accomplishments supported your organization(s) receiving $X,XXX,XXX in grant dollars (which refocuses that a grant writer never receives any grant dollars). Hope that helps!
