    Thank you for commenting on the response mechanism of the PNDtalk Board...it isn't automatic, we engage it! It is always so nice to see someone respond that they have read a post/response!

    In terms of this discussion, I have had Program Directors of Foundations ask for clarification on the Board Giving issue, and the majority of them state something like:

    "We do not need to see 'individual gifts' but we would like to see the aggregate amount annually and know how many of the board members contributed to that combined amount".
    This will often satisfy the curiosity and more information can be gleaned if they ask for it. I always add the caveat regarding level of giving (total dollars) if it seems low, explaining, for instance, if there are a quarter of the board members who are young/college age learning social responsibility, or very low-paid pastoral staff (even though they hold masters or doctorate level degrees!!) and clear up some touchy subjects that way. In the case noted above, there was 100% giving, but certainly not equal giving--however, there was equal 'sacrifice' for the organization's good.
