| How Can I Become A Non-Profit Fund-Raising Consultant?
Posted by Tony Poderis on 7/7/2009, 2:49 pm VIP Poster | Message modified by user Tony Poderis 7/8/2009, 9:30 am
I retired from non-profit fund-raising consulting about five years ago. The hard-earned knowledge gained over fifteen years, mostly going at it alone, and as a member of a consulting firm for several of those years---following twenty years as director of development on staff for a major orchestra---allowed me to write a guide for others thinking they would like to become fund-raising consultants. If nothing else, my article may be timely. I read in our local newspaper, and I know personally from other sources, that a number of organizations in my state were placing some of their development staff on “furlough.” A number of them lost their jobs permanently with development staff cutbacks. I suspect this to be an unfortunate trend, considering the current economic situation. Those of you who serve as development staff professionals, are the lifeblood of your respective organizations. I truly hope your positions are stable and strong. However, if this is not the case, then along with your possible look to a position on staff with another non-profit, you could be thinking of a career change as a consultant. If the latter is the career path you wish to take, perhaps a reading of my guide to become a fund-raising consultant professional will be useful. --- How Can I Become A Non-Profit Fund-Raising Consultant?(Sub-Title: Consultants must respond to a wide range of challenges, so they need to have a wide range of experience.) http://www.raise-funds.com/090706forum.html Best wishes, Tony Tony Poderis http://www.raise-funds.com - Fund Raising Forum Library - Exhibit & Document Library • Permission to reproduce any material is not required
