I connected to, and read, your sobering articles re: Ford Foundation and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Buy-outs are very much a fact of life for numerous workers. I am glad to not have to make that choice because as Rick noted, the market place is frightening at present if you need to find other employment rather than retire. As a matter of perspective, those who take a buy-out often fair better financially (total package) than those who hang-on, only to be laid-off six to nine months down the road.
