Hi all, I'm sending a grant app to a small foundation that's associated with the Unitarian Universalists (UU). They say that we can attach letters of support if we so choose. I've never done that before and it seems like such letters are usually written by people actively involved in the project.
However, I have allies at our local UU church who have gotten funding from this foundation in the past. They are willing to write a letter saying that we are a good, solid organization that does good stuff in our community. They're not actively involved in this particular project that we're applying for. We've never applied for funding from this foundation before so this at least would let them know we're not a bunch of wing-nuts.
Should I include this letter from the allied church? I read on this forum that it can be a red flag to foundations if the letter of support isn't really committing to the project.
What do you think i should do? Thanks for any suggestions!
