| Deadlines

Considering all the changes that funders are making these days in their giving because of economic factors, do you think it is helpful to get requests in earlier than usual before deadlines? Are their dockets filling up faster, so that if your request comes in two weeks before the deadline, for example, it could be too late for consideration? In other words, is it beneficial to get proposals in months early? Or are you still out of luck if they decide not to give to new groups this year, even if your request has already been sent in? Thanks for your thoughts!
