Hear! Hear! To what Linda had to say...the responsibility is equally shared.
The most important thing to remember is that foundation source funding as a primary source of income/revenue stream for any organization is very unhealthy from a sustainable-standpoint.
Philanthropic giving is done primarily by individuals. And so how are we to overcome lack of funding availability from foundations? By investing far more time and energy in building a strong donor base of individuals who will support our cause.
Although that may seem counter-productive advice from someone who earns respectable compensation for writing grant proposals, it is something I advise every client.
