We had a program that recieved funding last year from several foundations. One of the foundations has told me that they won't be able to fund us again this year, as 1) it was a one-time grant and 2) their endowment has decreased considerably. For the foundations I'm currently applying to, I'm wondering if I should say something about this? One line of thought would be that it tells the funder I'm applying to that their money is particularly needed now. On the other hand, it may make the funder think that others are running away from the program, which isn't true but could be construed as such. If I don't list anything at all, of course, the foundation may notice this and wonder why we hadn't applied to someone who had funded us previously. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.
