Ruth, Mailing lists aren't cheap and affirmative response rates are dismal at best. However, if you want to be a real hero by saving you agency money and improving your affirmative response rate to your initial acquisition mailing, you can create your own acquisition database from your states' "Manufacturers Directory" http://www.manufacturersnews.com/ and "Business Services Directory" http://www.hoovers.com//--pageid__15924--/global-sample-index.xhtml?cm_ven=PAID&cm_cat=GGL&cm_pla=BTS&cm_ite=business_directory http://trial.selectory.com/google/bg_business_directory2.html?registrationcode=goog0008 Hard copies are available in the reference sections of public libraries or one of your board members may have access. Also, get a copy of your local Chamber of Commerce mailing list. You can manually enter names titles and addresses into designated fields in Excel or Word for "mail merge" documents. I did this for a suburban youth agency which yielded a 13.7% affirmative response to my initial acquisition mailing, I believe the current national average is 1.5%. Granted (no pun intended), I spent a lot of time and had very sore fingers from typing, but I saved my agency a great deal of money by assembling my own database, while improving my success rate by using current listings and selecting names that I believed had a greater propensity to give to my agency. Anyway, this is just what I did! Rick
