I honestly don't feel that your attempt is not honorable, or that it lacks courage...I have read your heartfelt posts, which lead me to believe that you have a tremendous talent for communication. Perhaps the book you have dreamed of writing can find form from your posts, or move you towards a comprehensive overview from content. My husband and I pastor a small church in a very "economically challenged" community....don't you love the cleanliness of that word? People here have nothing, and the face of poverty is ever present. But we work to provide skills and opportunity to each person we can, because the answer truly does not lay in the hands of social programs, it belongs to individuals who can connect with one other person and be able to say "I made a difference" or "I am better off because of you". I believe that this is the essence of what you are trying to do (at least my impression), but yours has transcended the local one to try and capture not one caring person, but rather a global audience. That is where the issues with contributions/interaction falls short. A very generational and newly forming methodology, blogging for a cause...Yours is not the first I have seen for 1 person as opposed to many, but your approach, "help ME" is not connecting with the real responsive factor in humans, which is "help me to help others". I do not see it bearing fruit from this end, which sounds like the experience you have encountered on yours. The tides of giving may turn, but you must understand that you are competing for Internet dollars against causes such as Myanmar, China, and vast human suffering. With your talent for self expression and a succinct turn of phrase, I still stand by my earlier post, and highly encourage you to submit samples to some publishing venues. You may find affirmation in the form of receiving $$$ for venting of the soul, which would result in the same outcome...resources to advance your situation.
