| Ethics of copying and/or paraphrasing texts in proposals

I'd like to know what ethical parameters apply to "copying" and/or "paraphrasing" bodies of text already written on a subject for a grant application. Specifically, I am seeking funding for an upcoming traveling art exhibition that is currated by an outside organization... Thus, much of the detailed exhibit information has already been researched and written by them. Do I have to acknowledge my sources somewhere in my application (i.e. use footnotes or other documentation)? I'm not sure exactly what to do...
