| Re: Excellent points to consider

I'm happy to help. I'm glad I didn't waste time doing a formal Business Plan before starting my grantwriting business because it has evolved into something COMPLETELY different than what I envisioned starting out. I thought that I would be a one-woman-shop, and yet I now have 10 people who work for me. I thought that I would work predominantly for small nonprofits that had no one on staff doing fundraising; and yet over half of my current 25 clients have annual budgets in the multi-millions and development staff in-house. I thought my business would be a 'hobby business' that would allow me to do what I love and a way to make some little spending money; and it's turned out to be surprisingly lucrative. I've described by 'business model' several times on this Board and won't bore everyone else repeating it. But you can probably search on my posts and read about it if interested, or email me off-board. The software I recommend is Adobe Pro and also ReadIris, two ways to electronically type into PDF or scanned paper application forms.
