Aurelia, This is a large not-for-profit company. They have great "credentials," if you will. Long standing (45+ years), area's only not-for-profit long-term care facility, capable of taking patients many others refuse, etc...and a GREAT reputation in our community. Very strong financial history as well (ie, running in the black consistently and have built a substantial "nest egg" to leverage against). The big picture of the capital campaign is being guided by a company with a great reputation and is balanced. There are a variety of funding sources and fundraising programs being utilized. The grants we are going to pursue are only one part of the capital campaign. I am just the primary writer for this part. I have been doing my homework diligently in every area I can tackle. Not only have I been absorbing the project itself, but also even more about the company. I've been doing consulting work for them in other areas for nearly a year and have gotten to know the company and people quite well. I believe in this project 200% and just want to do my best. I've also been reading book after book on grant writing, taken an introductory course, as well as reading through this forum, and others, for more insight. I feel confident in many ways, just intimidated that this first step into grant seeking would be for such a large project. I've written a letter of inquiry for a local corporation who shows strong verbal interest in supporting this project and who supports our company in other ways already. This will be the first of many and I want to hone and tweak the pertinent areas to the best of my ability. Thank you very much for your feedback. Writing a first post is a fine line between giving enough information and not writing a novel I considered putting all of this in my first post and then decided I didn't have enough cookies and milk to offer all those who made it to the end of my book! LOLOL Catherine
