| Re: Quasi Endowment - more information needed
Posted by cro on 1/4/2008, 10:20 am, in reply to "Re: Quasi Endowment - more information needed"
According to the one paragraph in Russo's Excellence in Fundraising book, a quasi endowment is a fund treated like an endowment in that the corpus is invested, and the organization spends the investment earnings/interest at its discretion. At the Board's discretion, the corpus can be raided. I'm looking for more information and resources on quasi rules/guidelines as well.... In contrast, a true endowment is a fund where the corpus is invested, and a portion of the investment earnings are spent by the organization. The corpus cannot be touched/spent. A term endowment is a fund were the corpus is invested, and a portion of the investment earnings are spent. However, after a specified time (term), the corpus may be spent as well.
