    Hi Aurelia - Well, obviously I'm an AAGP member, but I love this list too and follow it frequently.

    Yes, for me, networking through the AAGP is the thing because it IS great to meet others who do what you do. I also like AAGP because it's a new and growing organization, and it's easy to immediately feel like you BELONG. In other professional orgs I've belonged to I just felt like a nameless ant.

    The professional development side of the organization is ratcheting up. A positive aspect of that is: if you have a professional development need you think isn't being met by the AAGP yet, you can make it happen! When members take control of their own professional development, they really are developing the notion of what it means to be a "grant professional," and I like that. I like the feeling that I'm creating something.

    The membership dues and the conference fees are very reasonable for a professional organization, so maybe come to a conference and see what you think. Then start a PA chapter! Of course, we'd love to have you contribute to the Journal too!
