| Re: More comments and thoughts...

Julie, Thanks. I did read Linda's suggestions about how to charge fees (missed the part about not hourly) when I thought I was going to be hired as a consultant by that foundation. Since that didn't happen I kind of forgot about it. I agree that I should think carefully about the direction I want to go in before I make a decision. I'm pretty open -- or not. Maybe I'm in the middle. I really like this position advertised in my town. Basically, it is in a for-profit business. But it is pretty much the same kind of fundraising/organizing work as I've done for NPO's. It's only part-time, which affords me the opportunity to pursue NPO work at the same time. In addition, I will gain experience through this part-time position -- if I get the job. I'm kind of stunned by how difficult it has been for me to get volunteer work at NPO's. I had even forgotten about one I interviewed at a year and a half ago. They liked me, and they told me I could come on at the end of the semester (I was still a student). End of the semester came, and they told me they didn't have a "place for me to sit." That was that. Not to be cocky, but these folks don't know what they are passing up. I work REALLY HARD for those who have taken me on (albeit briefly). I have never had negative feedback from the three NPO's I worked for. They were all very happy with my work. SOMEBODY out there surely needs me. Thanks again. Rose
