Aurelia,
I am happy for you that your free-lance experience has lead to great things. However, in the 20+ years I had been in the NPO "business", I have met very few entrepreneurial grant proposal writers who did much better than pay their bills. For the neophyte, it is far wiser to diversify, specializing later when one is comfortably situated in a position with a sound track record of achievement. How does one really know where his/her talents reside, unless he/she tastes from a smorgasbord of options?
