| Re: For-Profit Research grants

AJ: My sister works for a company that researches and implements cutting edge (no pun intended) medical "research" ideas/applications. This is a for profit endeavor, in the strong and justifiable hopes of conducting business with the findings/products at the conclusion of the research-to-application process. The company is funded totally on grants...from venture capitalists. Medical research is always being carried out via federal grants, including some (few) which are open to for-profit organizations. If you haven't already done so, you will need to familiarize yourself with www.Grants.gov and review Funding Announcements and Requests for Proposals to gain a better understanding of which, if any, are open to a for-profit organization within your field of interest.
