    Compensation

Posted by Patricia Email on 8/20/2007, 12:56 am

I have a client who hires people as instructors for a life skills program. These instructors are not credentialed teachers. They are recovering addicts and/or alcoholics. He is paying them nearly $100.00 per hour. In the area the highest paid instructor receives $52.00 per hour, but that is with a Master's degree and at least 15 years of instructional experience.

The proposals I write for him keep getting turned down and I keep trying to tell him that he is paying too much and funders do not like to see that. I have pointed out the possible additional tax liability regarding excess compensation.

I do not seem to be able to get through to him. Any ideas?
