| Not for Profit Job Ofer

I have recently sold a very successful business that I built from start. Based on my business experience I have been offered a job as director of a new not for profit organization. My job would incl. giving my input on the grant programs & events, seeking all grants sources available, networking, & grant writing. I do not have experience in grant writing , but feel I can do the job. Input please? How to pay me is also a question. I have been offered a base salary with an (unknown at the moment) additional % of the grant money received after my base salary is met. Does this seem practical and what is a recommended per centage?
I did not plan to take on a full time job, but this seems very appealing to me. Any input would be appreciated.
