Posted by nancy unfortunately, I can't add to that discussion because I've never run a charity fashion show either...but, in fact, Carl, I know without doubt that I could write an article on how to do it. A good freelance writer has to be mentally agile and able to learn lots of new things very quickly. I presume you write grant proposals...so you know that if you don't learn fast, you miss the deadline (or do you only write for clients after you've been with them for several months?). An unwillingness to write about a subject with which you are at first unfamiliar is, to me, a sign of an unwillingness to learn new things, to explore, to make room in your mental model of how things fit together. Abigail, I hope the next response leads you to someone with experience. I only know of folks here who have had a handbag fashion show/auction. I hope to read your article...are you finding that they are more often done by organizations on either coast? It doesn't seem a midwest sorta thing (but you're listening to someone who wears blue jeans and a t-shirt as a daily uniform). best of luck, Abigail.
