    In many states (most) grantwriters are regulated in the same way that all fund development consultants are regulated. Your contracts may very well need to be filed with the regulating Bureau in your state for their approval before the first proposal goes out. Therefore, you will want to check with your state's nonprofit regulating body to get the language they require to be included in your contracts. Please be aware that you personally need to be registered in many states if you are doing fund development consulting of any kind. To neglect to do so can result in fines for you and for your nonprofit client.
