    There is an easier way, if you have a good scanner. Newer scanner's software will ask you what type of format you wish to save the document as, you can save directly as a WORD document and save the other steps.

    Perhaps you can find access to a scanner with multiple options if you are running into a lot of these.

    Typically, printed hardcopy applications are limiting the amount of material they wish to review, so being able to add "more" info in a word document might not be beneficial to you...be careful not to over-indulge in space use.
