Seth, Fundraising that amount for the rock wall was raised locally. The founder has been absolutely entrenched in getting help to the needy. She used little in the way of fundraising "tools". She contacted probably a dozen area businesses and as many local churches with this specific purchase in mind. There were a lot of individuals contacted also that didn't donate money, but "in kind" equipment like an archery set, paddle boats and has to date collected about 50K$ in just equipment for programs. I tell you it was the enthusiasm and belief in making a difference in people's lives that has brought all of it together. Along with a healthy dose of "it will be done." Enthusiasm, faith, and a lot of telling the story, why you need, who benefits, why you are doing this personally is also helpful. If you really care about the purpose of your organization, and people can understand just how important your work is, they will give if they can and what they can. Just keep telling your story and you will get leads from everyone you talk to. Networking does work! It sounds to me that your work with end of life issues is something that is greatly needed. Not alot of people are willing to face something like this with perfect strangers, let alone loved ones. It is difficult to say just what makes this time of life easier for another. Counceling must be a big part of your work. Let PND know your progress!! Gwen
