That might work, but I would also suggest looking into some of the government surplus sites to see if there may be something available there. Also, check with the manufacturers of such items and see if they have one that they weren't able to sell because of blemishes or some other thing that made it unacceptable for retail. If you are in an urban area you may be able to arrange to share a similar item with another museum or even a for-profit business. Good luck. The best advice is to think positively that you will find a solution and then get outside of the box.
