Dear Sy, Thank you again. The book is aimed at teaching at the college level. Actually I'm working on an attendant teacher's edition. The University Press of America's edition will have an exhaustive index.
I began the project began fifteen years ago. It was going to be an article for the American Historical Review and I was planning on a Ph.D. soon after college.
I would be content however, with making a contribution to a better understanding of the American politiy. My professor believed that academia had waited 200 years for this life's work and that the scholars were going to come out of the woodwork.
I just can't get support. I will however, follow up and contact the NEH. Your advice is very encouraging.
