| Re: Grantwriters - Do you enjoy grantwriting?

I recently have been putting together a grant for a very young nonprofit, and it seems to take a long time to gather all the information needed, not to mention getting it all organized. This is the first one I have done and we haven't submitted it yet. The funder accepts submissions year round. It is a lot of investigation. I feel like I am tiptoeing around the financial end of it though. I don't want to seem overly snoopy, but how do you explain that and gain confidence not suspicion? Financial info has not been kept up very well, they don't have staff for it, which is what this proposal is for. Will a grantmaker frown on that fact? I am versed in financial recordkeeping and business taxes, etc. I just don't want them to feel like I am "taking over" Any suggestions for that? Gwen
